The Challenge
To help this landscape photographer create and build his brand and most importantly sell his art. Figuring out who his target audience was and how to reach them was the real challenge. He wanted ownership of his work, hence the name "gallery" and not Clive Smith Photography. He didn't want to sell his art on sites like Shutter Stock or PicFair and he didn't want to join Etsy. So how do we find his audience?
The Solution
Build an e-commerce website where he can sell his photography. Use a free giveaway to get prospects to opt in which helped to grow his email list. Use SEO, social media and targeted ads to connect with his target audience and drive traffic to his website. Use email marketing to nurture his leads.
Each business card had a different print on the back, with a message that said "like it? Scan this." when you scanned the QR code it would lead you to a sales funnel, where you can download the print for free as a wallpaper for your phone or desktop, and show you how you can buy the print.
Photo Book
We designed a photo book for him with a series of photographs he did of life guard huts. We noticed the reactions to these photos when posted on social media, encouraged him to create this book. He wasn't too sure about doing it, so we launched the idea and had people pre-order the book, That was proof enough for him to do it.
Social Media & Advertising
Social media helped to build his community, one that look forward to daily posts that gave the history and background of the pictures posted. Google and social advertising was the catalyst of his success in reaching his target audience, driving traffic to his website and capturing leads.
